Good story. I really enjoyed the story line. Decent action and everything they did made sense to me so it was real science fiction. Really more of novel of corporate infighting with a somewhat western twist, but on another planet.
The characters were quite one dimensional. I really wanted to love them, but that just didn't happen. I'm not sure I can analyze exactly why that was as there was a fair amount of back story and explanation of their backgrounds, but somehow the writing just didn't really cause me to invest a lot of empathy in their future.

I purchased this book when I was extremely busy and wanted a great book to escape into. It had a plot that was easy to follow in short bursts of reading but also engaging enough to keep my interest. It is suitable for all ages and I don't think it is just for sci-fi fans.
This was the second of Sundrud's books we have read. We have read five of his books so far with three more loaded on our ready to go. Always a clean read with this author. I would let my grandkids read any of his books. Good amount of action and adventure with a little humor thrown in. I don't enjoy depressing stories. Sundrud books make me feel good. You feel close to his characters.
I picked this book up because it appeared to combine two of my favorite genres, science fiction and Westerns, and after finishing it all I can do is ask for MORE. Victor is a great character and so is Cyndy, and I would enjoy reading more of their adventures. The story is appropriate for kids and up and there is some violence but not as much as you would guess, since some takes place offstage. The writing style is crisp and the description of the red apes and their habits is fascinating.
Some of the check boxes on the kindle review system are not sufficient??? This book is a good read for anyone liking the old western light romance stories. Max Brand or Louise Lamoure type westerns. I'd like Mr. Sundrud to write a sequel.
