Kate Asher is journalist who works for an editor who believes in old school. He thinks that guys are the onlky sports writer. Late wants to do a piece on a running back from the New York Kungs but her boss does not want her to do anything on this running back. Plus all their reporters were banned from the King stadium. Kate decides to have a new business cars made up and portrays a journalist from the Playboy magazine.Sean is the running back that Kate wants the interview with. Sean is player and loves to party. If he does not straighten up he will lose his position and be shipped off to another team.
Kate meets with Sean under a false name in dance club in New York and gets her chance to write her piece. However they both start to have feelings for each other and Sean does not know that Kate lies to him. During a game he gets I injured and that is how he finds out about who Kate really is.

This is the second book that I have read from Mia Ford and I have to say she writes her great storylines with well developed characters that draws the reader into the story and keeps them there from the very first page!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Some of the stories had good storylines, but were rushed. There were soooooooo many spelling and other errors, including several where characters were called one name and a page later the name changed. Also changes for a characters profession. Needs a good proofreader or editor.
A great sports romance - light on the sports heavy on the romance. The characters were wonderfully written as was the plot. I didn't want to put it down once I started. Will they get their HEA, after some deceptions are found out - read to find out.

Kate is a journalist at a sports magazine. She wants an interview with Sean Donovan the football player but her magazine is banned from the stadium. She decides to go above and beyond and pretend to be someone else to get the story. However learning his true story makes her feel guilty. What will happen when they get closer?
Romance is the name of the game in this book. This book delivers what we all want more romance and excitement in our life. Overall i am very well pleased with this book and the excitement it has brought me. This book had me unwilling to put it down until I turned the last page. Would I recommend this book to other people? Yes I would including friends .I absolutely think this is great book. I'm a sucker for a good sports-related bad boy romance...and Fair Play pushed all the right buttons! While sports romances are formulaic by nature, Mia puts in a few twists and turns that really get you going. Not to mention all the sports "hotties."
Our bad boy, Sean Donovan, is beyond "Hottie"--he's gorgeous, a huge player on and off the field, and can't seem to take life seriously on any level. You'll want to grab this book right now so don't miss his shenanigans on and off the field. 😊

As I read this, I recall having read a similar book and it dawned on me, I have read this author before and took issue with the same things in that book.
When the characters aren't focused on sex, they seem fine, rounded and believable. When they are focused on sex, the prose seem like desperate attempts to shock alongside ridiculousness. Dude ain't a vampire. He can't "smell her juices... just as a shark could... smell blood in the water" on a sweat-soaked dance floor probably drenched in Axe Body Spray. If you like the over the top descriptions of things like her nipples getting "long" and her best Pam Poovey impression ("I swear to God, you could drown a toddler in my panties right now."), maybe this is for you. Buuuut, not for me. Not for me.
